Wood species

For most of our projects, we work with solid woods.

If Teak remains our king for most of our humid environments, red Cedar, true solid Wengé - so scarce in solid wood, some 'red tropical woods', Afzelia or Ipé are also used.
Depending on the projects, other species can be looked at.

Our woods have not been treated and do not need to be. One of our principles is that some species are naturally suitable for certain uses, others simply not.

In the same spirit, we also never use any staining. 'Colours' are the one of the wood itself, which can change from a tree to another, in the same specie. Teak, Wengé, and other solid woods do not have a colour as painting. This is nature work.

Last, as we mainly use naturally oily solid woods, and with the sense of touch as part of the pleasure of our creations, everything we offer is finely sanded, but does not come with any additional layer (except our wooden baths and basins). Other type of finishing (lacquer...) can be made afterwards.
